SUGAR MAPLE

Preparation

Fresh green leaves, woody stem branches, and bark from several mature sugar maples were collected from red maple trees growing in Northwestern Wisconsin as part of a maple syrup cottage industry (collected by Pati Herrick, Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy graduate, 2003). A local homeopath then prepared the substance for proving in Montana via trituration in lactose up to 3C. It was then attenuated in 95% pure grain alcohol to 30C, according to Hahnemannian principles (09/23/2008).

Methodology

Sixteen provers took the remedy administered in 6C, 12C, and 30C potencies. The proving was double blind format, in which neither the supervisors nor provers knew the substance they were taking. During the proving, provers logged symptoms on a daily basis and were in daily contact with their supervisor until symptoms subsided.
